So, we headed to the Downeast Outlet. Now, I am certainly not bagging on the outlet by any means, let me tell you a little about it. It's like the rejects of the rejects as far as clothing is concerned. If it doesn't sell at the store it came from it heads to Downeast....and then if it does not sell there it heads to the outlet. This makes for some serious digging, but I enjoy it. Guilty pleasure. So I went and found these Diesel shoes. Loved them, tried them on, fit like a glove. Lisa also found a shoe to try on, same story. I then noticed that there was only one of the shoes, so of course I assumed that they just put one out (you know, like at Nordstrom rack...thought it was a safe assumption) There was no price on it so we asked the girl how much they were, they were only a dollar. Of course we get so excited about this, I am getting Diesel shoes that fit like a glove for a dollar! This is too good to be true...which of course it was. We asked the girl for the other shoe...what other shoe she says....they are missing the other shoe so they are just selling the one shoe. What the hell are we going to do with one shoe a piece? Although this would have been nice when I had the bunion surgery...I was only in the market for one shoe at that point. But really?
I think there is always weird stuff in the store but we really couldn't see past the shoe's...until we tried on this coat from J Crew. Lisa put it on and we thought it was so cute until she turned around. You can't really tell but there is a HUGE piece cut right out of the back of the coat. Like literally someone has just taken scissors to the poor thing. What are you going to do with this? Make a HUGE patch to cover it up?
But I really think this takes the cake. I found these swim bottoms (took my business away from K Mart if you know what I mean...). They are these adorable yellow and white polka dot bottoms that had huge red buttons on the front. Then I see marked on the price tag down from $19.99, Nasty Stain on the Back $4.99. If you are really going to be putting paper on something calling it a nasty stain you should probably just count it as a loss and throw it away. I need to know what kind of customer is going to be buying such a thing.
Needless to say we left disappointed and empty handed. But, we sure did laugh pretty hard so I guess it was worth our 20 minutes. Thanks Downeast...but really?

I LOVE the swimbottoms! I will never forget the K-mart episode. In fact, I made my hubby read the account (mind you..he is SUPER serious) and he was rolling! He would love this new addition to the swimsuit story... You are way too funny! Thank you for lowering my blood pressure today!
Katie that was hysterical. I loved the whole drama effect with each story! Who sells one shoe? Swim bottoms with nasty stains and coats with huge chunks out of it. I was laughing so hard. Thanks for the entertainment once again!
Why don't they just write "nasty skid mark on back"...I think it would have the same effect. What in the world???
Seriously making me laugh! Oh how I miss the Logan Downeast Outlet!!
ha hah ah i love downeast and all their hairbrained schemes too. what a delight. that one shoe was way cute too. what a disappointment.
"Nasty stain on the back..." Logan, how I miss thee.
You are so funny. Ridiculous. The interesting this is that people will buy that crap.
All of this is ALMOST as funny as you using the "word" "imparticular". Hmmmmm.... did you mean, "in particular"...?
Once again, got a good laugh out of all of it. Wish I was there to go on stupid shopping sprees.
Okay I just got caught up on your blog and I was throughly entertained! Really how is your life this funny? I think it is just you! Downeast what is up? I cannot believe you found all three of those items. The swim bottoms take the cake!
The swim bottoms are disgusting, the shoe perplexing, and that darling coat is just sad!
I am so glad you guys had your camera to capture all of these items!I especially loved the pictures of your faces, you are hilarious. The nasty stain takes the cake. But one shoe? Seriously?
