E.P.T, Breyers and Garbage Cans

So, we finally got some new neighbors in our basement. The others left like 2 months ago and we have really missed overhearing conversations, listening to garage band until all hours of the night and smelling everything cooked daily. So, its nice to have them back. But to be honest we never hear or smell anything...but I know they are down there. I also know a couple of other things about them. They like Yoplait yogurt, they use Sun detergent, they drink Aquafina water, and she might be pregnant. We only found the EPT (error proof test) box so we are still waiting to hear the big news. You know, I am assuming since I have talked to her twice I will be one of the first to know. Now you may be asking yourself, "Why do I know all this about people you don't know"....Well let me tell you, I had to recently dig through the trash and seeing as how we share a garbage can there are no secrets kept from this girl. But I hope you are asking yourself the most important question...why am I digging around in garbage.

A couple days ago Lisa and I decided to walk to the grocery store to get some Popsicles. Well, we found a better deal on Breyer's Ice Cream. So we picked out a flavor each and headed home. It was supposed to be OVERLOADED. Overloaded my eye. We kept digging and digging...and nothing. It was just like normal ice cream. No extra nuts, not extra brownies...nothing. We were obviously quite disappointed and when I returned back to the house 2 days later Lisa had polished hers off. She told me she was pretty disappointed, obviously not THAT disappointed but that's besides the point. She wanted to write a complaint letter about it but had already thrown away the container. Well let's turn on the lights and get started on the dig....

As you can see, we just made a little contraption for our hands out of garbage bags. They worked like a charm and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in their future endeavours.
Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner. After a few minutes of digging....we found it!

And it was time to CELEBRATE!!!

I will keep you posted on what we find out from Breyer's...I hope they really appreciate the time and effort we put into retrieving the carton so we could complain. You are welcome for the feedback. I will let you know when it is safe to by the OVERLOADED! Hopefully they can make some modifications and we as the customers can be satisfied soon.

And I will also keep you posted about the EPT, my fingers are crossed for a little boy!

Are you seriously wearing an apron to dig in the trash?! haha Katie, could I love you any more? I don't think so. Keep us updated on the unborn child!

Two of my favorite things; a demanding customer and a super sluth all rolled into one! I knew I liked you for a reason!

I think as consumers we let the producer get away with too much. I'm glad you didn't let the ice cream conglomerate get away with not overloading. I hope you get reimbursed for your dissatisfaction.

A. I love that you are just as much a stalker as I am. (Keep tabs on those neighbors of yours. Nothing gets by Gildea.)
B. I'm SO glad you're writing a complaint letter. There are so many times where I fully intend on writing one (and of course reaping the benefits of the free stuff that usually follows.) but i never followthrough. Props.
C. I'm glad i've been told the truth about the "overloaded" myth. You've saved me wasted time and calories.

i don't know why i don't check this thing daily. i will now start. i just read the story about your awkward "encounter" shall we say with your friend's parents. some things are not okay. example: telling your child's friend about conceiving their son.

oh, and been there done that on the "overloaded" crap. should've posted about that and saved you the heartbreak.

Wow, you didn't tell me you made a new Mexican friend to share in all of your crazy antic, that's great!

You did the right thing, and it reminds me of a few letters I have been meaning to write. I just wrote Old Navy this week. The story is too long to tell, but I'll let you know when it is safe to buy "clearance" merchandise vs. "sale" merchanise soon.

plastic bags . . . that's been in the family for years. 12 to be precise. we poop scoop like that. gross, but very effective.

and i was also wondering who the mexican you were digging through the garbage with. you know . . . tan skin is damaged skin.

You guys have way too much time on your hands!
But I do have to admit I've done a little dumpster diving myself. I use to go Northridge elementary and dig through the recycling bends. Jenni and I found some amazing things. Mind you I was 8 years old:)
